John undertakes a wide range of work acting for both private and commercial clients engaged in dispute or potential dispute. Although always aiming to resolve matters amicably and with pragmatic, common sense solutions, John is prepared to fight for his clients through proceedings in the civil courts when necessary.
John can also assist clients with Licensing applications and appeals to the Local Authority. Examples include personal licences, premises licences and temporary event notices under Licensing Act 2003, gambling licences and civil marriage licences.
Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, John achieved a 2:1 honours LLB Law degree and obtained a post-graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Sheffield between 2000 and 2005. Since joining the firm in 2005 John enjoyed spells training in the Dispute Resolution, Family, Crime and Wills & Probate departments before qualifying as a Solicitor in September 2009. He therefore has a broad range of knowledge and experience of different practice areas to draw from.
Away from work, John is a keen Stoke City supporter, enjoys playing squash and running.
